Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a breathtaking travel destination/national park with possibilities of adventure, fun and excitement as broad as any traveler’s imagination. Bwindi covers 330km2 geographical area of thick rainforest spreading into Kanungu, Rubanda, Kisoro and Kabale districts in southwest Uganda. It is a volcanic mountainous region with unique valleys hanging on hard rock threatening to give in at any moment. The landscape setting, the nature of the vegetation and resident wildlife species of Bwindi rainforest are unique in their own way and touch every traveler’s heart on Mountain gorilla trekking expedition.
Day 1 : Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
We shall start 8-hour journey to Bwindi national park. Its Quite a long drive but worth it because you get to enjoy the countryside scenery, some of the most beautiful nature’s scenery all the way to the Virunga . Keep your cameras close by and our driver will definitely stop or slow down for you to capture the beautiful scenery and wild game.
Day 2 : Gorilla Trekking
After breakfast, you’ll carry packed lunch and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing about the rules and regulations of gorilla trekking. After the briefing you will be grouped into 8 people, allocated a habituated gorilla family to trek and a park guide who is knowledgeable about the mountain gorillas and also conversant with trails in the jungle. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park takes about 30 minutes to 8 hours depending on where the gorillas are located. During trekking you will have great views of forest birds, other primates like l’hoest monkeys, chimpanzees, red tailed monkeys, views of plant species among others. Once the gorillas are found you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat which gives you an opportunity to observe their habits, behaviors, watch them feed, breastfeed, play, groom young ones, take photos and record the breathtaking moments to show people back home. After the face to face encounter with the gentle giants you will trek back to the starting point where you will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking, meet up with your driver guide to return to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 3 : Return Trip to Kampala
After breakfast, we shall have a guided nature walk to see birds for 3 hours before we can embark on a return trip back to Kampala.
