Set off from Kampala with a drive through Mabira forest, the largest forest in Uganda. We shall then cross the river Nile in Jinja with a stopover for brunch before proceeding to Mbale. Upon reaching Mbale we shall take a hike to the top of Wanale hill and camp on it for the night.

Day 2 : Khauka Cave and Transfer to Kapchorwa (Sipi Falls)

We shall make and eat our breakfast and then take hike through a trail at the western end of the ridge that will lead one to Khaukha cave, which is the most prominent cave.

In the afternoon go for a guided village walk and see how the locally grown Arabica coffee is processed. Relax for the rest of the evening as you watch the sun set on Mount Elgon. We shall lodge directly opposite the falls as we enjoy the sound of the ravaging water throughout the night.

Day 3 : Hike up the three series of Sipi Falls

After breakfast you set off for the highlight of the trip, a hiking experience to the three Sipi Falls. These are big water-falls and you will get a great view of them as well as get an up-close experience so you can hear the roar of water and feel the water splashing on you! Abseil the major sipi falls and experience maximum adrenaline rush, this is an activity worth trying out. Head back to the lodge for lunch and watch the sun set in the evening.

Day 4 : Mount Elgon National Park

After breakfast, check out and set off for Mt Elgon national park, this is about 10 kms away from your hotel of stay. Upon arrival at the park headquarters, you will be received by your ranger guide and briefed on the expedition. He will also introduce you to your helpers who include porters and a cook before you begin the expedition.

The conservation area has two major entrances thus SIPI trail which is less steep and Sasa trail which is steeper. On this expedition, for a complete experience, you will have a loop where you go through SIPI and return via Sasa.

There are various sceneries of flora and fauna including cliffs, caves, waterfalls, gorges, calderas, hot springs and mountain peaks.

The caves have frequent night visitors like elephants and buffaloes which come to lick the salt found on the walls of Kitum cave on the lower slopes of the mountain, this cave enters 200 meters into the mountain.
